Admissions & Joining Instructions

IIHAS welcomes students committed to healthcare excellence. Find program details, entry requirements, and clear steps for joining our institute.

Programs offered at IIHAS

IIHAS currently conducts three training programmes at diploma level: Nursing & Midwifery, Clinical Medicine, and Social Work. Each programme combines theoretical knowledge, practical training, and community engagement. Admission to IIHAS can be done online through this website, by calling our admissions office, or by visiting the institute in person.

Available programs
Diploma in Nursing

Preparing skilled nurses and midwives since 1963. Training covers medical-surgical nursing, maternal & child health, mental health, pharmacology, and nursing management.

Entry Requirements:

  • CSEE with four (4) subjects including minimum grade 'C' in Biology and Chemistry
  • A pass in Physics/Engineering Sciences and English Language
  • A pass in Mathematics is an added advantage
3 Years NTA Level 4–6 NACTVET Accredited
Diploma in Clinical Medicine

Equipping students with essential medical knowledge and clinical skills through classroom instruction and practical rotations at Ilembula Lutheran Hospital.

Entry Requirements:

  • CSEE with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including 'D' passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences
  • A pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage
3 Years NTA Level 4–6 NACTVET Accredited
Diploma in Social Work

Training professionals in social welfare, community development, gender studies, and youth empowerment to address social challenges across communities.

Entry Requirements:

  • CSEE with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects
  • Or Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) in Social Work, Gender, Community Development, or Youth Work
  • Or ACSEE with at least one principal pass and one subsidiary in principal subjects
3 Years NTA Level 4–6 NACTVET Accredited

    Come to IIHAS in person at P.O. Box 1, Ilembula–Makambako, Njombe to collect and submit your application form at the registry office.

After selection — joining instructions
What to do after being selected

Once your application is accepted, follow these steps to join IIHAS:

  1. 1 Pay tuition fees to the CRDB account (0150472869400, Account Name: ELCT.SD-ILEMBULA SCHOOL OF NURSING). Bring the bank pay-in slip on reporting day.
  2. 2 Report to the institute on the designated date with: original CSEE result slip and copy, birth certificate copy, and 1 passport-size photo.
  3. 3 Each student must join or show evidence of membership in the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) or similar fund at the time of registration.
  4. 4 Attend the orientation programme during the week preceding the beginning of the new academic year.
